Access 1st offers Study Needs Assessments, Advice and Support for Disabled Students in Higher Education.

The cost of the Study Needs Assessment is funded from the Disabled Students Allowances, subject to written authorisation by the funding body in advance.

  • The fee is £620 + VAT;
  • This is one off fee for the duration of the course;
  • The fee is fully inclusive of any actions arising from the delivery of our Needs Assessment Service:
    • A initial meeting in person with a Needs Assessor to discuss impact of disability on study;
    • A Needs Assessment Report with relevant recommendations to facilitate access to study;
    • Dealing similarly with any additional disability related study needs with which a student presents arising during the course;
    • Any activities undertaken by the assessor or centre to review the student’s DSA support, for the duration of the original course;
    • Liaison with funding bodies, equipment suppliers HEIs or other stakeholders for the purpose of review of the student’s support needs;
    • Any other advice relevant to DSA funded support for access to Higher education;

Postgraduate and PGCE students may be eligible for a formal Review of their needs, funded through the postgraduate DSA, subject to written authorisation by the funding body in advance.
